F1 champ’s son targets world title
Quote selected text Published by F1 Editor March 26th, 2007 in Formula 1The son of F1’s late world champion of 1976 has commenced his career in motor racing by eyeing the formula one world title.
19-year-old Freddie Hunt, whose famous playboy British father James most notably raced for McLaren and died of a heart attack in 1993, has just signed to drive in Britain’s junior single seater category Formula Ford, according to the Times newspaper.
“What’s my goal?” he asked rhetorically. “World champion. Formula one. Four consecutive world titles.”
Hunt, who has ‘James Hunt’ tattooed on his shoulder, will make his debut at Oulton Park on April 9.
He continued: “I don’t mean to sound cocky when I talk about winning the F1 championship, I just think if you are really going to do something, you have to believe you are capable.”
