Current racers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello have failed to appear on a list of fans’ favourite Honda drivers in formula one.
The late triple world champion Ayrton Senna tops the charts after netting more than 55 per cent of the vote conducted by the teams’ official website hondaracingf1.com.
Senna, who was 34 when he crashed and died at Imola in 1994, scored all of his drivers’ titles, and 32 of his wins, in Honda-powered McLarens between 1988 and 1991.
Behind the legendary Brazilian, Nigel Mansell took 18 per cent of the vote, followed by Nelson Piquet (13%) and Alain Prost (7%).
5.72% of the nearly 65,000 fans surveyed in nine languages between 1 December 2006 and 30 March 2007 voted for ‘Other’.
