Michael Schumacher’s second test of the 2008 pre-season will be conducted over at least two more days, a Ferrari spokesman has confirmed.
It emerged on Thursday that, hot on the heels of the retired world champion’s impressive two-day run this month at Circuit de Catalunya, the German will return to the wheel on December 4 at Jerez.
“We haven’t arranged the programme yet but he will do a couple of days,” the Spanish newspaper Diario AS quotes the spokesman as saying.
To the British broadcaster ITV, meanwhile, Williams’ Sam Michael explained that Schumacher’s Barcelona return indicates that the 38-year-old could easily return as a highly competitive grand prix racer.
“Bloody hell. That was impressive what he did at Barcelona. It was incredible,” the Australian said.
“I’m surprised he doesn’t come back to be honest. If he seriously got into a top car for next year he could win the world championship again.
“But I think he has made his decision (to retire) and he wants to stick by it,” Michael added.
